Ashby de la Zouch Open Gardens
Saturday & Sunday 7th & 8th July 2012

Come and visit at least 8 beautiful yet different gardens in Ashby.
See a vast array of stunning and unusual plants in glorious locations.
This year the open day has moved to July 7th & 8th 2012.
We have some new gardens this year, as well as changes in some of the existing ones.
Take the oportunity to see what can be achieved in typical "Town" gardens like yours rather than the "Country Estates" that are typical of many open garden events.
Plants for sale, free gardening advice and scrumptious cakes !
£3 donation allows entry to ALL gardens (in aid of Cancer Research UK)
From tiny acorns...a potted history of Ashby Open Gardens.
- 2008 saw the first Ashby open gardens. Two gardens opened their gates and raised £200 for Cancer Research UK.
- 2009 was a great success with 5 gardens open. People traveled from as far afield as Loughborough and even Oxford to come and see the gardens. Over £300 was raised for Cancer Research UK.
- 2010 built on the success of the previous two years by having 8 gardens opening. The Open gardens date moved to August to show how the gardens look in late summer.
- 2011 will have 8 gardens again (3 new gardens) and will be opening in Early summer (June). This will give a totally different view of the same gardens.
- 2012 will be the first year that we are trying to open on both days to give visitors a more flexible visiting time.
The aim of the open gardens is to bring back some community spirit to Ashby while at the same time raising some money for charity. Lots of hard work has been put into the planning of this years event, come along and join us in what we hope will be a fun day for all.
